olympics, scholympics

the other day katie and our uncle were in a disccussion (i wasn't really paying attention) and then i hear katie (speaking with great passion, like only katie does) exclaim 'these are athletes that have trained all their lives to go to the olympics!'

i thought to myself - 'so, who cares? why do they get to 'train' all day everyday while the rest of have to work?' but i wasn't about add anything to that conversation.

however, i discovered something about myself - i don't get the olympics.

another opportunity squandered

i hate it when i forget to relentlessly obsess over something.

'cause, see - whenever i mail my netflix back (and by 'mail' i mean put it on the office's outgoing mail shelf) i immediately go back to my desk to check my queue.

the next day, once i receive an email from netflix receiving, i refresh my queque easily 23 times until it tells me what will be mailed to me that day.

today, however, i forgot to obsess. i got my email this morning and not until 8 hours later (when i got my email from netflix shipping) did i even remember i was going to get something.

my email popped up and i thought:

damn, i forgot to obsess over that all day.

you'd think coconut rice would be weird, but it's not

Caribbean Tilapia with Coconut Rice
This beautiful flaky tilapia is crusted with jerk seasoning, a combination of onion, garlic, thyme, allspice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and
cayenne pepper. This dish tosses up some spicy island flavors! Paired with jasmine rice flavored with rich coconut milk will create the
perfect balance.

what is brunch exactly?

i went to lunch today with my friend josh. his 18th wedding anniversary is sunday. i asked what they might be doing. and then this exchange happened.

josh: we thought about brunch
me: mmm, brunch is lovely. i have never had brunch.
josh: me either.
josh: well, i've slept late and then ate something when i got up, but i don't know if you could call that brunch.

my mom, she's the hilariousist

my mom and i watch 'the mole'. last night it wasn't on because there was a 2 hour 'bachelorette' episode on.

my mom emails me today and says

'what happened on 'the mole' last night, all i could see was 'the bachelorette'

like, if you don't try hard enough you can't see what everyone else is watching. all i could imagine was the two of us standing in a big crowd and i can see 'the mole' and she can see 'the bachelorette'

how did i respond to her?

'that's all i could see too'
